Ten on Tuesday (The Day Late Edition)

1. I was wrong when I said we had 3 birthday parties last week, we actually had 4! The first of which was on Tuesday at Chuck's parents for a slew of July/August birthdays, including Jackson's. He was thrilled to get the Bendaroos he's been asking for (Thanks Aunt Retta!) and a TON of Legos.

We've got a lot of these things laying around the house

2. Moose was up to his old tricks-finding things to crawl under and happily playing there. I think I'm going to get him an end table for his birthday.

3. The twins came to work with me on Thursday. They had a lot of fun learning about the optical industry and our charitable organization. As part of the day, they got to design mock-ups of store-front advertising, Bryce's slogan was "99% Awesome" and Jarron named his store Meatballs. "Why Meatballs?," I asked. To which he replied, "Because I like them." Okay. It was a really fun day.

4. The second party of the week of parties happened Friday night at Chuck E Cheese. I am not a fan of Chuck E Cheese, especially not on a Friday night, where hundreds of kids are running around, screaming and acting like crazy people. My kids, however, are HUGE fans of Chuck E Cheese. So they had a blast. Moose threw up on me...twice. I did not have a blast.

The kids mauling poor Chuck E.

5. Moosey hit another big milestone this week-we switched his car seat to forward facing. He loves it-it's so cute to see him looking around grinning at everything.

6. The third of the birthday parties was for one of the twins' friends at a laser tag place. Unfortunately, I forgot to send the camera, so no pictures. But Bryce and Jarron had a great time.

7. The last of the birthday parties was for Jackson at Pump It Up. We had about 14 kids there and had so much fun-there was boxing, jousting and rock wall climbing-not to mention all of the cool inflatables. Jackson had a great time hanging out with his friends and loved his Curious George birthday cake.

Jarron boxing with Mike-I think he is saying Bring It On!

I'm not going to say whose kid that is in the dark blue shirt, because I'm pretty sure his mom wouldn't be happy about it, but his name starts with An and ends with Drew.

Moose cracked me up with this tunnel-it took us forever to get him to crawl through it!

Even the big guys had fun-Chuck and Mike

8. Through Facebook, I got back in touch with a friend of mine from elementary school-one of my best friends growing up. She lives in California now, but was in town this weekend to see her new neice. We were able to grab lunch on Sunday and it was great to spend a couple of hours catching up. Yet, another reason why I love Facebook.

9. We are gearing up for school to start on Monday. We'll meet Bryce and Jarron's teachers on Thursday and I'll meet Jackson's on his first day of school. We have the backpacks all packed and ready to go. I'm hoping to hold it together and not cry in front of Jackson (or his teacher)-I can't believe how nervous I am about him starting school.

10. I'm spending six hours scrapbooking this Saturday-I can't wait! I haven't prepared my page kits yet, but I think I'm going to work on our Hilton Head vacation photos. If I get it done-I'll be almost caught up on vacations! Woo hoo!
That's all I've got for this week-see you Monday for the 1st Day Of School Recap!!!

See you tomorrow!

Ten on Tuesday

1. It's Tuesday, which means Friday is only a couple of days away! Yay! I'm having a super stressful week at work-I'm pretty much the only person in my department here this week and I have a lot going on. I normally love my job but weeks like this are no fun at all.

2. While things are busy at work, things are even busier at home, we are running around every single night this week and we have 3 (THREE!) birthday parties this weekend. Good grief!

3. One of those birthday parties are for this little guy. I simply can not believe he is 5 years old already. He's such a funny kid. One night I was laying in bed talking to him when I noticed he had a bruise on his arm from the shots he got at his check-up.
Me:"Hmmmnnn...you have a bruise there on your arm."
Jackson (twisting his arm to see):"Noooo, that's just a knuckle."
Me: "Huh? What are you talking about?"
Jackson (pointing to the freckles on my arms): "See Mommy, you have them too, they are just knuckles."
Me: "You mean freckles? (Holding up my hand) These are knuckles."
Jackson (looking like a lightbulb went off):"Ohhhhh, that's why they call it a knuckle sandwich. That makes a lot more sense. "
Hee. Love that kid.

4. The boys had their football evaluations for Upward on Saturday. Jackson got hit in the mouth with the ball, I hope that is not a sign of how this season will go. I'm super excited about them playing football-it is hands down my favorite sport. (Sorry Chuck and Don-I love it even more than basketball!)

5. Jackson had his very first dentist appointment (the twins also had check-ups). He did great-he sat perfectly still the whole time and did not complain at all. I was really proud of him (especially when I heard the boy who was the same age howling in the exam room next to us).

6. Also on Saturday, we headed to the park with Don and Retta and their boys. The boys had a great time playing together. And Don didn't injure anyone (he sort of known for "accidently" breaking people's bones)-so all in all it was big success! :)

BFF's-I think I am going to do a mini-album with pictures of these two!

7. We got to do some swimming this weekend as well since it was blistering hot here in Ohio. (Like smacks you in the face HOT!) Moose is just like his brothers-total water baby!

Love this picture of Moosey-look at those eyes!

8. Mr. Moosey has a brand new trick-standing up without holding on to anything. He stands up and then he waits for you to clap and cheer for him. Then he gets super excited and lands on his rear-end. So cute. In a way I'm kind of sad because this means he'll be walking soon, which means he'll be a toddler and not a baby. I'm just not ready for that.

9. I may have told some of you that I really like the Purex 3in1 laundry sheets. I completely retract that statement. I am absolutely furious at that company. I'd been using that product since it was released-unfortunately during that time some of the sheets were getting sucked up into the hoses of my new washing machine, and last week it stopped working altogether. Fortunately my dad found them all, and got the machine working again, but he said I was lucky it didn't burn up the motor. So, for the record, I do NOT recommend the Purex 3in1 sheets, unless you are looking to ruin your washing machine. Because they are good for that.

10. Have I mentioned just how much Moose looks like his daddy? Because he looks JUST LIKE HIM! It's like a mini-version of Chuck. So cute.

Ten On Tuesday

1. I have not taken a single picture of the boys since we've come back from vacation. I feel sad for my poor empty August 2009 folder in Kodak Gallery.

2. We weren't crazy busy last week, thankfully. So there wasn't really much to photograph. Still trying to catch up from vacation, I guess.

3. We went to Fuji House for dinner Friday night. It's hands-down our favorite restaurant. It was pretty cute this time, because Moose really noticed the fire. His eyes got really big but he didn't cry or anything. He's pretty happy to go anywhere with us without a fuss, as long as we pack some snacks for him. :)

4. I finally finished the invitations for Jackson's birthday party with his friends. I think they turned out pretty cute-Jackson really loved them. He's such a fan of monkeys.

5. Speaking of Jackson, he had his 5 year check-up yesterday. He got FOUR shots! But the kid didn't even flinch, no tears at all. (I hate to say it but both of the twins cried during shots at his age!) Such a tough little man. He told me he expected it to hurt more than that. His arm was pretty tender most of last night from the tetnus booster though.

6. I got some school supply shopping done yesterday. Have I mentioned how much I love school supplies? I love a freshly opened box of crayons, crisp new folders, and notebooks, don't even get me started on notebooks! The boys and I started dividing things up into backpacks. At one point Bryce said, "I love being organized!". Me too, Brycey, me too!

7. We registered the boys for flag football. They are supposed to have evaluations tonight but I think they might just get rained out.

8. Want to see a really super cool picture? Go HERE to my sister in law's blog, scroll down a bit until you get to the water droplet picture. Amazing isn't it? I can't believe how talented she is!

9. I got a little scrapbooking done this weekend (more than a little actually). I finished all of the layouts from our trip to Red River Gorge, I think my next big project will be to tackle our Hilton Head Vacation from 2006. (Yes, I am that behind on scrapbooking!)

10. My little brother turns 31 today! I'm really blessed to have such a great relationship with my family. My brother is (and always has been) one of my best friends. He is an amazing (and incredibly generous) uncle to my boys. Growing up, we always said we'd raise our kids together and make sure that they were more than just cousins, but best friends. I am thrilled that we are doing that. I love you James, you have no idea how much you mean to me!
